Silver Highway has recently been working with acclaimed author and historian Robert J Norrell, whose biography on Alex Haley, Knoxville native who wrote Malcolm X and Roots, has come out to great reviews, including two on the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, among others. He also appeared on the cover of the Knoxville Mercury in an article by Jack Neely.RJN 8 web

Robert came to Silver Highway needing a website, a social media presence, and a portrait for books and articles that he would appear in, which we shot in front of the Alex Haley statue. We recently launched a website that would promote 8 of the 14 books he has written, would stream multimedia with speeches and podcasts, and would provide embedded social media updates to show news, speaking events, and reviews.

The launch of this website was also important as it coincided with the remake of "Roots," the epic miniseries about an African-American slave and his descendants, which had a staggering audience of over 100 million viewers back in 1977. Now A&E networks are remaking the miniseries, to air in 2016. Alex Haley wrote the classic novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family, to some controversy. Silver Highway was honored to be a part of a promotional effort to tell the story of Alex Haley and the important work he did, as well as the other fine works of author Robert J. Norrell. Check out the list of books by Norrell here, or visit the home page. Stay tuned as we just launched social media campaigns on Twitter and Facebook and continue to work with Robert on his blog.
