New Website for Ironwood Tree Care

ironwood
This website isn't totally complete, but we were too excited not to start sharing this site! Our friend Preston Roberts is a talented arborist, which is an individual trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. Ironwood works to preserve trees by maintaning the health of beautiful, stately trees, many which have been around for 100 years, rather than a standard tree service which usually just removes the tree all together.

My favorite testimonial was this one from customer David Wallace:

Website for Acclaimed Author

alexhaleyrjn2

Silver Highway has recently been working with acclaimed author and historian Robert J Norrell, whose biography on Alex Haley, Knoxville native who wrote Malcolm X and Roots, has come out to great reviews, including two on the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, among others. He also appeared on the cover of the Knoxville Mercury in an article by Jack Neely.RJN 8 web

Robert came to Silver Highway needing a website, a social media presence, and a portrait for books and articles that he would appear in, which we shot in front of the Alex Haley statue. We recently launched a website that would promote 8 of the 14 books he has written, would stream multimedia with speeches and podcasts, and would provide embedded social media updates to show news, speaking events, and reviews.

stevie wonder and sunset twirlin'

Got to shoot a portrait session with this gorgeous, music lovin, sunset twirlin' graduate. I work with her mom, but don't know her all that well, and felt so priviliged to go behind the scenes on such a close and sweet relationship. Emily seemed totally relaxed and adored around her mom, and I got the sense from the very beginning that this was a girl who was given permission to be all that she is.

She just graduated from UT with a degree in management and interned at music venues and is trying to break into the business. She grew up a dancer and has the poise and movements to show for it. Im looking forward to seeing what she does with her passion for music.

Im not sure if trying to recreate the dirty dancing shot is a great idea when you're pregnant...but it made for a happy photographer. Look at that leg pop.

These are pics of a kid I've watched grow up...His parents took me in when I was a hot mess and let me be who I was. I even lived with them for a few months. They live in a sweet pad in south knoxville where people tend to congregate and drink beer and eat dear meet hangburgers by the handful and usually overstay their welcome sittin on the porch and watching deer leap across the yard. There's a fire when its cold and a grill burning when it's hot with a big circle of people gossiping and laughing and peaceful silences...but not many.

Stand By Me

Ben E King 3001377k

How appropriate..."Both heartbreaking and comforting, the words to this very early soul classic from 1961 have often been found to come into their own when confronting the death of a loved one." Stand By Me. RIP Ben E. King, you have stood by me on many of my playlists during tough times.

You were able to sing something they related to instantly, because it was part of what you felt. It was part of what you had already traveled through. It's part of the people you were associating with daily. It was all of that.
